Changing employer on a temporary residence permit
Briefly: when and how to file an application (wniosek) to change a work permit, timelines, fee and effects for the residence card.
When to change the permit
If the decision names a specific employer or work conditions, changing to another employer or different conditions requires filing an application to change the temporary residence and work permit (zezwolenie na pobyt czasowy i pracę). Working for a new employer without such a change may breach the permit conditions.
Who to submit to
The application is submitted to the voivode for the place of actual stay. You must attach all required documents and attachments (załącznik) — the list of attachments depends on the case. If the package is incomplete, authorities may request additional documents.
Deadlines and fees
The application should be submitted within 15 working days from the change of circumstances; the authority reviews a complete set of documents within 60 days. There is a state fee of 220 zloty for changing the permit; proof of payment must be attached to the application.
Card and notifications
The residence card (karta pobytu) issued under the old permit does not change automatically when the permit changes. For some permit types there is an obligation to notify the voivode of an employer change or other changes within a time limit (for example — within 15 working days); failing to notify may affect status.
